The Howley Law Firm wouldn’t be where it is today without the backing of exceptional lawyers who each bring a unique set of skills to the table. Our firm’s second-in-command is Leandro “Lindy” Lachica, an employment and immigration lawyer with extensive U.S. and international experience. In addition to being admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in New York, Mr. Lachica is licensed as a lawyer in the Philippines and New South Wales, Australia.
Mr. Lachica began his career as a litigator with the law firm of Manalo, Puno, Jocson & Placido in the Philippines. He later joined the Philippine foreign service and became a career diplomat with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Lachica’s career as a diplomat eventually brought him to Australia, where he served as Vice Consul and Third Secretary of the Philippine Embassy. His next posting was in New York, where he served as Consul of the Philippine Consulate General. In both postings, Mr. Lachica was a senior legal officer responsible for representing the Philippine Government and providing employment and immigration legal assistance to Philippine citizens abroad.
Mr. Lachica earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of the Philippines. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.
